Various updates, including another about the 2nd gravlax, the letter I wrote to the president, etc. Got some apparently automated or viral facebook spam from someone in my network. It was really stupid. In the end (I gave fake info), you get a picture of a golden lion tamarin, probably an assload of spam, and a text message: (I am providing this as a study in stupid and time-wasting spam-tactics, out of [...] It turned out to be PHP performance issues on my host, which it looks like my hosting service has fixed. WordBook appears to be just fine. Interestingly, perhaps, no obvious controls for dealing with private posts, so let’s see what happens there now. Many of you no doubt already know that I opened a Facebook account today, because you got a friend request from me. I remain skeptical about this whole Facebook business, but I ended up joining because so many folks at work mentioned wanting to network with me, and because my cousin, Michael, invited me a couple [...] |
