Various household updates. [...] A quick recipe I made up today. [...] I started editing my Two recipes post (previously) and as I started going on and on, it struck me I had a lot to stay, so I figured maybe a separate post would be a good idea. [...] One recipe: mixology (virgin), the other: a recipe for relaxation. [...] Today we went out and did lots of Asian food-centric shopping. [...] Changes… [...] I took it out and cleaned it up and sampled the thinner of the two pieces last night, about 68 hours into the cure. It came out too salty. But that was fairly easily fixed. [...] As I noted in a recent Facebook status update, the second gravlax is underway. This time the base fish is two slabs of a farm-raised Atlantic salmon. [...] It must be said that I am a creature akin to an otter. If I ever had a totem, it would be a river otter. I say this by way of explaining my deep and abiding love for the flesh of this fish.
