I’ve had the pleasure of setting up an iPad for my Dad. I had it for about 1 month. I’ve also owned an Android-based smart phone since September. I’d like to add a tablet to my household and based on my experiences with the two technologies, I think it all boils down to a single [...] So after the Froyo update to my Samsung Vibrant, as predicted by some of the upgrade guides, my GPS did not work. [...] Thanks to Meredith for this one – I thought T-Mobile was planning an Over The Air update (based on a press release on Engadget I saw) but it looks like I read too much into it. But apparently for now you have to do it manually. [...] Turns out that the newest version of Kies (the PC software you can use to manage your phone that’s available primarily to non-US customers) disables tethering (hooking up your phone to your PC as a connection to the Internet). Bah. [...] This looks like what I need to really take control of my phone for what I want to do (user scripting and control-wise). [...] These are geeky updates, but those of you who have one may find it interesting. [...] |
