Or at least it feels like again, though maybe it isn’t actually again. Maybe only in my head. It echoes a lot in there when I think stuff like this because it should be obvious, and it never actually seems to be, so the echoing is usually due to the strident rage that’s incipient.
Unfortunately, I can’t even say this on Daily Kos or anywhere else that’s a collaborative blog other folks own, because they sensibly have anti-trolling rules, and this would probably count under those rules.
Here it is:
Dear pink people (liberals, conservatives, dems, repubs, I don’t give a shit),
If you ever feel like saying “I’m not racist!“ when you’re in a discussion with folks (pink, non-pink, whatever) about some stupid shit you just said/posted/emailed/texted, do us a favor and don’t say that. Don’t argue in any way that you aren’t. Just say, “Oh, I’m terribly sorry. My pinkness asserted itself before I could stop it, and suddenly I said a stupid thing. I will just quietly go over here where I’m not bothering anyone, do my own research and get my own head out of my ass. Please excuse me while I go do that.”
At that point in the conversation, that is your only gracious option. Any other apopleptic sputtering is simply that. You already said something objectionable. Go clean up your own mess.

I keep reminding myself that it’s not actually that bad for me. I’m an HWP (Honorary White Person). I don’t have to take anything personally, I don’t have to assume things are directed at me when stupid shit is said.
But I do have a brain in my head, and because of that, I notice this bullshit happening anyway (even if it’s not directed at me).
